Using the Lightroom Radial Filter can yield results like “burning and dodging”in the same way a printer uses their hands in a conventional darkroom. It’s the process of making subject matter darker to create depth or lighter, to create the illusion of more light. The darkroom process is done with some trial and error using simple tools and your hands. It is done with the Lightroom Radial Filter using the Shadow, Highlight and Exposure sliders. It, too, requires some trial and error, but without the chemicals and having to work in the dark.

Mastering the Radial Filter will add to your creative toolbox.
