Horizontal, vertical or square, Lightroom has a search for that! If you remember shooting a vertical of a scene, but you cannot find it, try searching by capture orientation with Lightroom Classic’s Metadata search. This video shows you how.

I’ve used Lightroom since 1.0 and never know about being able to add a search criteria… thanks!!
Question: can you search base don a specific aspect raton: i.e. 4×5, 5×7? It would make t easier to sort thru photos so that I can sort via ping size as I flag stuff for print.. thanks!!!
You can sort by aspect ratio (portrait, Landscape, Square) in the Metadata library filter, but there is no native aspect ratio option for specific sizes, like 4×5, 5×7, 16×9. You might check Jeffrey Freidl’s website for something that might help. He’s about the most prolific plugin builder for Lightroom Classic. http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies
Also, somewhat unrelated, but possibly useful is Julieanne Kost’s post, “Master the Metadata Panel in Lightroom Classic.” https://jkost.com/blog/2022/04/the-metadata-panel-in-lightroom-classic.html
This was good. But is it possible to choose how it should sort the images? Now it sorts by width but I want to be able to sort by height.
Yes. You can sort by height selecting portrait instead of landscape.
